of good friends and after-dinner pictionary games.

1) today

i had an amazing day :)

i spent one half of the day walking around OU with the Clique, and then the other half with the Guavas - whom i have missed so much!

i had Burger King for lunch, then tried to watch a horror movie (Halloween) but i was too much of a wimp to watch past the initial fifteen minutes or so, so Jayne and i left, flitted from shop to shop in finding the perfect scarf (Zara!), bought magazines (Junk and Time Out) and reserved a gorgeous bag - not the bag i wanted, but a gorgeous bag nonetheless ♥

then, with the Guavas, we had dinner (roti planta) at Kanna Curry House and then played Pictionary at Terence's - 3 vs 4, and we (Andrew, WL and i) were kicking their (Terence, Huai, Joan and Vanessa) asses at first, but they won in the end. next game, boys, next game.

the game was hilarious. after finishing a round, in a bid to try and save paper, we'd draw careful lines around each picture. it didn't make much of a difference, though. but still, we were eco-friendly! *grins

due to that 'eco-friendliness', we created an Octopus with an external brain as a result! it was so cute i had to take a photograph.

i've never had such a fun day in a long time, guys. i love you all ♥

2) fandom-related goodness

- so, Panic at the Disco have started a new blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FINALLY.

after scrapping their old website layout, the blog portion has been missing (technically, non-existent) for months and months now, and i'm glad that they've set up an extra site solely for blogging. it's been ages since i read some of RyRo's weird blogposts and Jon's wholesome posts (i love his the best, i have no idea why), and i'm hoping to read some Brendon and Spencer ones, just to see how their writing is like.

not surprised if Brendon's are all about CapriSun and cookies, though, that boy is such a kid at heart. ♥

well, knowing Ryan Ross (as a fangirl, not personally, of course - i wish), he got things going with the site's first blogpost, a post about interesting things at the VMAs, how the world works and prehistoric walking whales. um. o-kaaaaaay.

- i bought a Bones Season 3 boxset!!! it was a steal, considering how much i paid for the last two Seasons when i got them in Summit. i left it at Terence's - i can't wait to settle down and watch an episode or two when i get it back! i heard that Booth and Brennan finally kiss in an episode (thanks for spoiling it, Galaxie!). about time, after two seasons, don't you think?

3) mobile matters

yeah, so the phone that i was using after i lost my initial phone went bonkers recently. i realized that people weren't receiving my text messages, and i was wondering why no one replied to my text messages, too :(

so Dad got me this LG phone from this weird Maxis deal thingy, and i love it already, despite it having no games like Snakes (MY HIGH SCORE IS GONE *sob). i love the pretty pink font highlighter text when i write text messages and the cute keypad sounds (do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do - I KID YOU NOT) when you press them!!!! :D :D :D :D

i'm one happy girl :))))

blast from the past... again.

i'm back - and i'm so sleepy and full that i can barely even move an inch. my stomach feels rounder than usual and the fact that it is should usually make the very self-conscious me very disappointed with myself but today i'm just too happy/satisfied to care.

friends, sushi and then a chocolate frosty? who could ever complain?

as i'm too lazy to write a whole review of the entire Charity Fiesta (which wouldn't be pretty, mind you), you can make do with pictures, can't you?

this is the inflatable jousting ring. when i saw this, i immediately thought of the Communication Carnivale we're supposed to be hosting this October and i made up my mind to take photos of everything that might be useful to us as reference, but then i forgot after snapping this photo :D

maybe Amir will remember. *shrugs*

anyway, this was really fun to watch, but it got tiring after a while. i watched as two primary school boys about as tall as my computer table clamber on to the two platforms and try as hard as they could to lift the jousting poles but they were just too heavy. aw.

after wandering around, the four of us decided to pay a visit to our old classroom, 5 Gamma, where nineteen of us spent a (fairly) happy year together :). if i'm not mistaken, i think this is our second time visiting the class since we left.

that's Huai sitting at Kai Sin's old place, Joan sitting at her old place and Terence finding out the name of the poor soul who has now taken over his old spot.

5 Gamma still smelt the same. if i closed my eyes, i could have almost imagined Dereck's sweaty green house t-shirt drying on his chair. i felt like a Pevensie sibling entering Narnia for the second time as we stepped into the class. it looked different but it still felt the same. *sigh*

i walked around the class, examining the backs of chairs to see if i came across a chair that i had once vandalized, or maybe Dereck's old number 27 chair, and sure enough i came across this one.

:D

i think it was either me who wrote the Terence and someone else (Terence maybe?) grabbed the liquid paper and wrote roks. the only thing i'm sure i did was cancelling the "roks" and writing "sux".

ah, the memories. it made me wish that we'd made more marks on the walls and chairs for memory's sake. sort of like a dog leaving behind his mark by urinating. only we use marker pens. not urinate.

... never mind.

luckily someone left a whiteboard marker full of ink behind, so Joan wrote this on the whiteboard :D i hope an old teacher sees it and remembers us.

Tian Yi's and Kevin's old spots. nice to see Kevin's desk finally loaded up with books, eh.

they completely ruined the perfectly painted walls by plastering fugly fluorescent mahjong paper all over them, by the way. my eyesssssss. they burrrrrrrrrrrrn. D:

Jo Wen's old place under the swivelling fan! i can almost see the tall guy taking down that chair and setting his bag down on it now.

and can't you just imagine the old black lockers behind the last desk right now? :(

we hung out for a while at the back of the classroom, looking at all the old decorations and reminiscing about old times when someone suggested we play old games just like we used to at the back of the class, so Joan and Terence started playing this "one two JUS!" game where the loser had to stretch his/her legs to touch the winner's foot with his/her foot.

that's Huai's legs you see behind Terence. she stretched herself out on two brown chairs just like we used to do.

Terence lost by the way. bahahahaha.

my mark i made on the floor at the back of the classroom :)

it was the very same spot where we'd sat in a circle during one of our trial exam periods, playing chi ku pak until Puan Zurina slammed her hand down on her desk and yelled at us to shut the fuck up because "your exams are coming and you still are playing these childish games".

the once-pretty door to our classroom :(

"Oh my God. Look at the ugly door!" i proclaimed in horror when i saw it, "THEY BEDAZZLED IT!"

can't you stupid Form Fivers leave a bloody door alone? the walls are ugly enough :(

this was taken when we had to leave for the canteen because Yee Lin and Ka Peng arrived.

before i walked down the famous staircase right outside our old classroom, i gave the class one last look (we left the lights on, just like old times!).

we couldn't handle the "festivities" after a while, so we left to have lunch in Sunway Pyramid. good timing, too, because when we were making a beeline for the bus bay from the canteen, this old aunty was singing a bad bad bad rendition of Queen's "We Will Rock You" with Hanif Othman Merican (General Manager of Sekolah Sri Kuala Lumpur, which, in loose terms, basically translates to 'owner's son') on the bass.

yes, i shit you not. Hanif was playing bass.

we had Sushi Zanmai! my favorite favorite favorite ever place to have sushi. sure we just had some yesterday... but their soft-shell crab maki is too good to pass up. i want MOAR, even though i had it two days in a row. it's that good.

Joan perusing the menu. in the end she settled with salmon sashimi salad with special Sushi Zanmai dressing. it's yummy.

a cup of green tea, soy sauce and a small saucer of wasabi and soy sauce. can't have sushi without it.

last but not least, this is 'daifuku', a Japanese ice cream dessert Joan ordered. it's supposed to be ice cream wrapped in this rice skin. i remember having it in an airplane on the way to Korea or something. it tasted amazing.

i had some just now and it tasted the same :)

*

and so that brings this picture post to an end.

i miss days like today, when i'd whip out my camera and snap any random thing and then blog about it. i think i'm going to have to do this more often :)

also, today was one of those days when i felt that i truly belonged, especially when we stepped foot into the old Guava abode, despite my bitching at the end of the day (because i was hungry/tired/fed-up/pissed off). it's nice to come back to a place that you're so familiar with that you know it like the back of your hand.

i guess those twelve years spent in SriKL made a deeper impression on me than i actually thought.

i've got my memories;
they're always inside of me
but I can't go back,
back to how it was
i believe now -
i've come too far
but I can't go back;
back to how it was

drown my sorrows.

i'll be hitting urbanscapes tomorrow with ficm pals - i hope i'll come back with a steal or two!

i want that goddamn mixtape necklace so effing bad.

too pooped/dizzy to type out an actual post like i used to but overall the meetup with the old gang was kind of okay, though it went on awkwardly because of the lack of things to do. though the end of the night was pretty interesting......

mm natch.

kay, off to shower and then bed.

p/s: bumped into the donkey at OU today. pretty glad to see him there because i miss peeps from the ficm crew ♥

p/p/s:
omg my tagboard's alive again; courtesy of the tranny pelican aka Geoffrey Yeow. :)

p/p/p/s: oh - we watched Wanted today. the plot was kind of twisted and hard to catch. i had to ask Terence at the end of the movie about a few things i couldn't understand. otherwise, i sort of liked the movie, although others thought it was pretty fake and bizarre due to the way the bullets were curving and everything. the slow motion effects kind of irked me a little, but other than that it was all fine.

James McAvoy & Angelina Jolie do make a hot pair in the movie, even though Angelina spends half the movie beating James up (ha - you go, girl), and Morgan Freeman seems to always pick the most twisted movies to star in. the role he played in this movie really reminded me of his role in Lucky Number Slevin!

watch it and see for yourself :)

Kam..

Today we went house visiting.

Joan came and picked me up in her car and we went off to get Huai, then following Dollar's directions we tried to make our way to Klang, but somehow we ended up getting lost in Little India wtf -_-

We finally made it to Kai's after getting correct directions to the hospital near her house from a security guard.

She had some Australian guests over, and they speak Cantonese.

o_o

I fail.

*

"Tommy, this is called kam," Kai told Tommy, the eldest son, who's 18 and really funny, holding up a mandarin.
"O_O Kam?" Tommy starts laughing.

Took me a while to get it, but when I did I nearly spat 7 Up all over Tian Yi's coffee table.

My Birthday.

These were taken on my birthday in Carl's Junior.

Me trying Joan's drink (she mixed up everything together) and it tasted like Skittles.

Me and MY drink. I was being a dork that day. :)

Huai. Who is forever like this in a candid photo, but I love her anyway. She's currently in Europe. :(

I love this photo.

Terence and fries.

LOO JOAN. I MISS YOU SO MUCH.

And yes, it seems like forever since i've last talked to you. Hope to see ya soon!

Fondue.

Just last Wednesday, I went out shopping in Sunway Pyramid - well, window shopping on my part, with Kai Sin, Andrew and Zong Sheng.

After several hours of walking around from floor to floor, our feet hurt, so we decided to stop and have some dessert at Haagen Dazs.

Oh yeah. I still owe Andrew thirty bucks. *headdesks* I forgot.

And our dessert of choice?

Haagen Dazs chocolate fondue.

Priced at about fifty bucks, according to the description on the menu, it boasts fourteen scoops of ice cream, nuts, fruits, cookies and tidbits, all surrounding a pot full of hot chocolate.

Pot full of chocolate. Pshhht. Riiiiight. More like, a pot less-than-half-full of chocolate.

That aside, it was scrumptious, though it wasn't enough for four people.

Butter cake, nuts and bananas.

Tiny scoops of ice cream we could dip into the chocolate. Strawberry, Chocolate, Macadamia and Coffee. Yum.

KaiSin and I digging in.

Hungry?

Guava galore.

So.

The man just came over and brought my CPU back to reformat/revive it. YAY!

I wonder what he'll say when he finds my 234273947293 slashfics and my 300 Ryden icons. And, um, I think there's still a yaoi manga or two somewhere in the jungle that is my pile of documents.

Um. Happy reading Mister Computer man.

*

Anyways, Saturday was the reunion of us Guavalians.

Guavalians, not Gammalians, mind you. There's a difference. It's up to you to use your brains to figure it out.

Lynette couldn't come, Suz's in England, WenLiang's in Australia and Jo Wen is .. um. Uncontactable :|

Anyway, we had an awesome time.

We ice-skated, I fell down twice, and I've got a huge blister that evolved into a wound on my left leg, but in the end, I learned how to skate a little. :)

At one point, over some la mian noodles and siu long baos at lunch, I felt so at home that I just sat quiet for a moment and glanced around at all of us with a smile on my face. We've changed, a little. But basically everyone's still everyone.

Andrew's still as random as ever. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, HAHA but it's certainly comforting to know that he's the same, I guess? :P

*on the escalator*
"Winnie..."
"What?"
"I want to pee."
".........."
*bursts into laughter*

Joan's still making fun of Adam's Adam. The poor guy.

"So, Adam!"
"Huh?"
"How's life in the Big Apple?"

That caused me to nearly fall down on the ice when we were skating.

Aahh, the memories.

These are pictures from Joan's camera.

Us at lunch outside Dragon-I.
Spot me!!

Us again. Spot me!!

Us at Jack's Place for dinner, with the head waiter who suspiciously reminded us of Wen Liang. See, Wen Liang? At least you were sort of with us that night :)

Dereck's strategically placed middle finger.

Eric Lay - haven't seen this guy in ages.

Andrew being all happy clappy.

In the car on the way home:

Cousins and my best friends : Joan, Huai and I

MONSTARRR

We're big goofballs when it comes to cameras :|

And we'll see our names in city lights... make the clock stop, make your heart drop and come alive...

We're so cheesy, Pizza Hut's going to have a run for its money.

The Ninjabanana.

LALA!

Hieeeeeee!! I iishh Winnie worhhh! Naish to meet euuuu!!

*shudders at self for talking like that*

Joan : cooler than thou.

Owned by a BEE!.

today, on the 4th of November 2007, i, Winnie Loo Jia Yi, got owned by a bee.

yup. a bee.

this bee to be exact.

he was standing in front of the GSC in One Utama, about half a head taller than i was. he was one funny guy - he mocked EVERYONE. even the little kid standing hand-in-hand with his mom, sucking on a lollipop. nope, even he wasn't spared.

the bee pranced over to a board where all the movies were listed and pointed to Resident Evil : Extinction and gave us the thumbs down sign. we laughed. then he pointed to Josh Hartnett's latest flick, 30 Days Of Night, and he gave the thumbs-up sign. then, he mocked a guy who was standing right beside us, folding his arms comically and leaning against the wall. the guy laughed in good humour and nature.

and then, when we turned to go, the bee stopped me, and held out a hand, indicating that he wanted to shake mine. fine. so I held out mine. when my hand was only an inch or so away from his, he pulled his hand away and pointed it at me in a "you-got-burned" gesture.

"OWNED!!!!!!" yelled a laughing Terence.

:(

hmph.

you break me down.

Torn Up and Stomped On

I get so uncomfortable in certain situations sometimes.

I mean, I can't really decipher what the hell i'm going through, but it's sort of a mixture between disgust, hate and annoyance and the feeling's so strong that it makes my skin crawl and usually the best way to make it go away is to stuff my iPod earphones into my ears and blast My Chemical Romance or Linkin Park at the highest volume my ears can take.

I've been getting that feeling a lot lately. Some certain people just don't get the meaning of "personal space" or "privacy".

I just don't know how to tell someone. Maybe over a serving of chilli and cheese fries from Carls. Jr? :)

I really miss my best friends. I do. Nowadays, I rarely ever see Andrew, or Kai Sin, or Yee Lin, or Ka Peng (KA PENG!) or Tian Yi - but I keep accidentally calling him on a daily basis because I always forget to lock my phone and his name's at the top of my list AND HE'S STILL TOTALLY FINE ABOUT IT, bless him. Adam, if you ever read this, you rock socks man. Seriously. I am sorry for all the trouble and pain i've caused you HAHA. We should all get together one day. Yes. We should. God, I wonder what I'd do without Joan, Huai, Terence, WL, Lynette and Mugen. Love you guys lots and lots and lots.

I miss you guys. A lot. It seems to get worse by the day. It's like i'm homesick or something. It's like, you guys were my family. For two years. And now my family's ... separated. Not gone, hopefully. I'm having a bout of friendsickness, maybe? *insert teary pout here*

In the meantime, I shall sit here, red and sunburned, and reminisce of all the times we've had together for the gazillionth time.

That's Andrew. And that's Dereck who could have possibly prevented Andrew from celebrating any future Father's Day. And yes, that's me who's laughing. I was laughing so hard and I sounded like I was crying. Well, I practically was. It was so funny :P

Collide.

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And i'm tangled up in you, yeah

But i'm open, you're closed,
Where i'll follow, you'll go,
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find, you and I, Collide

I'm quiet you know,
You make a first impression
I've found i'm scared to know i'm always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time,
You somehow find, you and I, Collide

Don't stop here
I lost my place
I'm close behind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find, you and I, Collide
You finally find, you and I, Collide
You finally find, you and I, Collide
___________

This song makes me cry.
This song is full of meaning and it doesn't really apply to me or what I have been through, but this song will always be my favorite song of all time, and a close second is The Click Five's Good Day because that song always cheers me up and puts a smile on my face, even though my day has been far from good.

Today we had lasagna at Huai's house. It was good. Real good. So good, in fact, that my stomach feels so utterly round right now, I feel like a ball. My stomach is too big for my liking that I just expertly hide it behind a t-shirt or my trusty red hoodie.

It's hard, being compared to other people. You are scrutinized so closely, as if you're an experiment sitting in a petri dish under a microscope and even remarks like "No wonder lah, your figure like that" make me cringe and hate myself.

I know I should probably flip that person who said that off and get on with my life being all satisfied with myself but I AM NOT.

I AM NOT SATISFIED. I am not satisfied with who I am, dammit!

So this time, no sitting around. No laziness. No more being greedy. I am exercising and I shall go to the gym!

.......... Once I get that pair of sports shoes.

Wine.

Shiraz is yummy but too much is too much wei
Hate the aftertaste it gives you when its halfway down your throat.

Pictures soon man and wtf I hate google because it wont let me search for journals on effects on mass media in english towards youths what the fuck

I HATE YOU GOOGLE!

*coughs*

So.

Pictures soon I guess. Feeling kind of bummed out due to some fucking reason right now but I can't seem to place why. Ha. Oh well. Feeling kind of weird. Maybe its the wine. Maybe its just ... me. Or maybe its just today. Or... I don't know.

All I can say is that when i'm sitting around the barbeque pit, with the guavas around me, I just feel more comfortable than sitting around any other table in the world, even with my family. It just feels like home.

AND Manchester United kicked Elephant Poop Everton's ass today (THANKS VIDIC) so hahahahahahaha we're three points up, baby!

Ok wtf ... I'm aware i'm rambling on about practically nothing right now so I might as well sign off and go to bed, as its one am.

Joan's in the shower right now though. *shrugs*

Ohkay.
Tomorrow's a new day.

Work to do, things to see and stuff to take care of.

Ok bye bye.

p/s: Oh yeah. We visited a shop selling fat carrot plushies today. Nearly went nuts. The largest carrot there is RM49.90. *hint hint* Make sure you get a non-lopsided head one though ;)

Wine, wine wine!!!
And monopoly.

Terence ordering our pizza weeeeee :D

Some more come for booze+pizza party.
Respect, man.
*salutes*

We ar noobz in wine opening (I think if I were opening it i'd prolly need at least 2 other people to help me -_-)

Joan with wine waiting for the...

MONOPOLY!

Fine lah, right no guava gathering is complete without camho's of us.

:P

The camera was shaky without flash, so it looks like Joan was evolving into Huai and Huai evolving into me.
0_o

Yes it doessss!

Yes we did...

Wine!
Actually, before, after I drank wine, i'd get this feeling like I would really wanna throw up, but now, I don't feel anything at all.
In fact, I think wine is yummy, though a tad bitter at first :P

But not as yummy as Bailey's, of course!

:D

So, I had a curfew, and Terence was supposed to drive me home before eleven thirty 0_o

On the way out, Joan took a picture of Tammy, Terence's German Shepherd.
Gordon (the Golden Retriever) was nowhere in sight.

And play-snaps at your fingers, and sticks her nose in your butt, but it's normal, I guess 0_o

On the car-ride, of course lah, trademark already -
Camho again.

Every time I look at this, it makes me crack up, without fail.
XD

Mole!

Huai and Joan tried to take pics of the moon, but due to the moving car... they couldn't really.

But instead, some interesting shapes came out!

A G shape!
A Guava sign!

This MUST BE some sort of sign to us.

Like the bat signal from Batman to Gordon! XD

AND, LAST BUT NOT LEAST -

Guess who in white swim-trunks?
Sizzle sizzle :D

Who else would look so sexy in those?!

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro :D
Who's on holiday in his country, Portugal.

Mmhmm, MORE HOLIDAY PICTURES, PLEASE!
