i hate this part of the semester, i hate it i hate it i hate it. assignments, quizzes, presentations and summaries are being flung at us left right and center, barely giving us space to breathe. just when i thought i've finished this major essay and i can have a good night's sleep, a new one springs up like mushrooms after rain. jfc i can't take it any more. last night, i was talking to Foxit about how awesome would it be if we could only skip these years of university and go on to our dream jobs without having to go through all the hassle. he agreed. lol the pair of us lazies. sigh. it would be awesome, though, just imagine :( after last night (i barely got any sleep, mind you), i know one thing's for sure: i have come to hate Issues In Publication and Design with every single bone in my body. it's possibly even more retarded than the CCS subject we did last sem. okay, maybe not, but it comes close. I NEED A BEACH HOLIDAY, PRONTO. *pout once we were done with class (and a moody Miss. happy 21, Spin! i couldn't bear to photoshop your best friend out of the picture as he is insanely gorgeous. sorry for having to share the limelight :'D it's been a busy few days! i'm back from college/uni (i can never get used to calling it uni, so i just call it college all the time, and people get confused, lol). although it was a pretty long day, i felt that it was one of the more productive days, because we finally finished our third attempt at designing a poster/flyer for the Carnivale event. pretty proud of this one! i can't show it to you guys yet, but when it gets accepted, i will! *crosses fingers* anyway, Merdeka eve this year was spent online with the Clique, and LeeYee and i were the only Malaysians present - we didn't even realize that it was past twelve before going OMG ITS PAST MIDNIGHT! HAPPY MERDEKA in all caps. lol fail. still, damn festive right :) last year's was spent at a barbecue party at Terence's with the Guavas and our mutual best friend called wine - don't know why it didn't happen this year. *sigh* it would have been nice if it did, but i'm not complaining. anywayyyy random pictures over the weekend- eyesssssssssssss. so i just found out that i practically dug my own grave, and i'm going to bury myself any time now. okay, see, that day, Mr. Anubhav was like all "Choose a topic for your 'mini-Survey' (in inverted commas because it isn't mini at all) now, you can't change it once you've written it down." the rebel in me decided to pick a topic i was sure no one would ever do because it required a tad bit of research : e-health. but i didn't realize it would require EXTENSIVE research. as in reading books, websites, whatever (hell, i'd be lucky to find shit about e-health), not something that i can pull out of thin air. i thought e-health was about the aftereffects of using computers and everything, but noooo, e-health apparently means ' an emerging field in the intersection of medical informatics, public health and business, referring to health services and information delivered or enhanced through the Internet and related technologies. In a broader sense, the term characterizes not only a technical development, but also a state-of-mind, a way of thinking, an attitude, and a commitment for networked, global thinking, to improve health care locally, regionally, and worldwide by using information and communication technology.' before i die trying to complete a 2000 word essay, mom, can you make sure that Wilson doesn't eat that last chocolate donut? thanks. NOTE: HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY CHOCOLATE MEMOIRS! It's been two years. Man, has it been that long?We - or rather I - found a new feline friend in college today. Remember Waffles the cat? I haven't seen her around these days. She's probably prowling around somewhere in the building, like I know she does, or maybe in the bushes surrounding LCS. Anyway, this morning, I was walking towards the Media Hub, when I spotted a small bundle of orange fluff sitting a few metres away from me, right in front of 7 Eleven. I thought it was Waffles, so I went "Hi, Waffles!" and proceeded to bend down to give the cat's head a pat, when it turned up to stare at me intently with its huge green eyes. It wasn't Waffles. This kitty was built shorter and stockier, and its cheeks were somewhat rounder. I could tell that he was a male cat, and he was still a half-kitten. He looked odd in a way, but that only made him all the more adorable and unique - those green eyes just won me over. So I stood there and stared at him, and the little guy stared right back at me. If you were to be walking in our direction this morning, you would have thought that we - I - was nuts. However, it was he who ended the staring match, letting out a confused meow and making me throw back my head and laugh out loud. He was so adorable, I wanted to bundle him up in my tan Topshop bag and take him home. (If Candy doesn't rip him apart, that is.) I pet him on the head, and then I went on my way, smiling because I just made a new friend. Geoffrey later gave him a name when I relayed the story - Pancakes - which totally suited him. If I ever come across him again, I shall take a picture of him for you all to see. :) Labels: College

Oh my God. Hit me. I just found out what my CRR class is all about (because Miss. Natasha, our super cool new lecturer told us to) - and i'm now SO stoked for classes to officially start. The principles and processes of composing and editing spoken and written communication for personal, professional and academic purposes including citation rules. Applying criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of spoken and written communication. Writing appropriately for the purpose and audience.
Yay, a writing class! And I thought we wouldn't have any this semester! Miss. Natasha, is, as Surekha put it, "the real deal". Man, when she walked in, you should have seen the look on our faces. She was wearing this pageboy cap like the one I saw Ryan Ross wearing in a picture a few months ago, these thick red glasses that reminded me strongly of Pn. Sanizah from high school, and these leather-like boots. "Oh, I got them from Target in the US," she said, when questioned. And she also had this nice black studded bag from God-knows-where - it was gorgeous. Anyway, looks and fashion sense aside, Ms. Natasha is a woman of many talents - she writes, she designs, she lectures... she goes to concerts, she listens to anything under the sun, plus she has the personality to match. I can't wait for the next lesson. Labels: class, College

Sooooo i'm still feeling a little overwhelmed by everything i've just gone through today. Man, it's a big step, university. You don't feel like the teen you always thought you were - you feel bigger now. Older. Grown-up. It's weird to think of myself in that way, when i'm only seventeen. It's nice being a year younger than most of my coursemates - I like the look people's faces when they ask me what course i'm taking and then how old I am - they just gawk at me like I've just grown a second head. Today was something new. We first had a Principles of Journalism lecture in Lecture Theater 1 comprising of around seventy students - we only took up like, less than a quarter of it. Miss. Aparna, our lecturer for that subject was kind of interesting. Her thick accent gave away the fact that she was from India - you had to strain your ears to hear what she was saying. She seemed really witty and sarcastic, yet so ... interesting in a way that I didn't even reach for my phone while she was talking. Mr. Anubhav, our CSS lecturer is also from India. He seemed a little intimidating and hard-headed at first - we were fruitlessly trying to explain to him that we were divided into groups according to ex-semester intakes, not course type, but he didn't want to listen till Nash told him flat out that it was so. He got better after that. And we have Miss. T back again as our PR 1 lecturer. Really glad to have her back. We know the drill - assignments on time, don't be late, and absolutely no phones in class. I'm pooped. After a night of hardly any sleep and a day full of classes till five pm, I can barely keep my eyes open. Thank God classes end at twelve tomorrow - I can finally get my Chucks that i've been lusting after for so long!!!!11 :D:D:D:D Yay, so excited :D. SO DEPRIVED OF THE CLICK FIVE BOARDS. Joey's fiddling around with it - it's been FIVE WHOLE DAYS WITHOUT IT ARGH. I need to post my new fic - i'm really excited to see what people think of it, it's really different from all the fics on the boards... I wonder what's that stupid blue-eyed donkey doing with it. JOEY ZEHR, IT BETTER BE UP SOON. All the boardies are ready to murder him -_- Labels: class, College, the click five

Just yesterday, a couple of us went to Dara's farm for one last college class outing, where we had scrumptious barbeque (the potato salad was again, to die for) and saw lots of animals, fed chickens, climbed trees, and of course, took lots of pictures. It was nice to escape from city life and just spend time surrounded by nature and our classmates. These are my pictures : The baby goat. We all spent ages trying to touch it but it was too fast for us - it always hops away. IT WAS SO ADORABLE - everyone was going "AWWWWWWWWWWWW" Robin and Syaf climbing a huge tree. The male deer, dubbed Bambi by Zheng Joo. It was extra friendly, it licked my hand and it even chewed on a rubber flip-flop and Amir's shoelaces. Their racehorse, Great Hero, getting a free manicure. He's so tall. Little Billy venturing near the entrance of the place we were having our lunch. Miss. T reaching out to Bambi. Amir picked a chicken up. This is Mary, one of their two ponies. The other one was a male and he was fierce. Amir and the chicken again. Mary grazing. Bambi. Here are my pictures for you guys to downloadhttp://www.mediafire.com/?83hlsyzyfhd I'm not sending them on MSN, because i've already deleted pictures on my computer, so hurry! Labels: College, Outing

I'm in the Media Hub now. My last day in the Media Hub. I don't think i'll be seeing it for another three months or so. Bye red table tops. Bye matching red swivel chairs. Bye stupid swing-door. Hopefully you'll get replaced when we come back. Or not. It's Zheng Joo's last day here. :( I'll miss her. Lots. Right now she's beside me reading blogs. And we laughed when we saw a funny pic of Ben posted on the boards by Cami. XD * I really wanted to go to Sunway Lagoon. I pondered over bringing my stuff last night and telling my mom but then I learnt that my exams were until four, so I didn't bring my stuff. Jayne, LeeYee and Vivien called me just now and told me to go for the Battle Of The Bands thing at Sunway Lagoon but I didn't have my clothes and all and I'm in my college here in Mentari and my house is all the way in SS2, plus, my mom would kill me if I went out today because i'm going to my friend's farm tomorrow morning for one last party with my college mates, so yeah. :( I'm sorry girls. I really am. Again T_T. I suck. I really do. Will meet up with you guys soon. SOON. Promise. If you guys can go out, that is :] Owh. Mom's here. Gotta go. Will write more later, if I don't fall flat on my bed with exhaustion once I get home. Labels: College, events, gripes

I am, sadly, in college, with nothing else better to do than to type this out slowly while waiting for my mom to arrive. Dara is sitting one computer away from me, and Zheng Joo's sitting on one of the not-so-comfy pleather armchairs behind me, listening to songs on my i-Pod. The keyboard feels stiff under my hands as my fingers tap the rock-hard keys. It wouldn't hurt if Taylors decided to buy new keyboards and new computers for the students to use >_> I. WANNA. GO. Today. I liked today. Half the class - us - bonded over doing our Econs assignment in under two hours - I think it's one hour, to be exact. As Lish and I tapped away on the laptop, I took a moment to look around the class - everyone in our group was doing something. Jason, Florence, Su and Zheng were at the back of the class, figuring out and drawing the graph for our mock-business. Patricia and Jesslyn were running around taking everyone's Student ID numbers and names and they ran off to do the front cover in a jiffy. Dara, Yan Sin and Jessica were at the front computer, discussing Marketing Strategies. Everyone was shouting questions to each other from one side of the room to the other. I've never seen us work so efficiently before. For the first time in a long long while, I actually felt kind of whole. Yay us! Cheers to team Dessert Disasters. *raises mocktail glass* Labels: Assignments, College

Breakfast At Tiffany's!! I absolutely loved the scene where Holly Golightly sits on her fire escape, while Paul looks down at her as she sings "Moon River" while strumming on her guitar. Now I know what Blair (in the Gossip Girl series) is so crazy about. The croissant scene - albeit very short - at the start was priceless. She walks back and forth on the pavement outside Tiffany's and stares into the windows, while eating a croissant. And Audrey! I loved the way she carried herself! Her clothes, her poise, the charm - And oh - the ending! The ending! The famous kiss-in-the-rain scene really blew me away - it was classic. I hope we get to watch more movies like this! I am a wuss. I can't stand ghost movies. Like, the music goes all dun-na dun-na dun-na dun-naaaa then WHAM the ghost makes a sudden appearance in a mirror or something. I can say that whenever Miss.T went "Okay guys, cover your mouths, don't scream", I pulled my hoodie hood over my head and shut my eyes, sticking my hands over my ears and lying on the table. Bah. Like I said, I am a wuss. Well, not entirely. I WANT GORE. WHERE'S ALL THE GORE?!!?! *We've finally had our Social Psychology and our Econs classes today with Miss Ponmalar (don't know how you spell it). She seems pretty cool - she came off as strict, at first, but in the end she was all right, sharing lots of her personal experiences with us, making us laugh. I was sleepy, due to lack of sleep, so I fell asleep like four times during each of her classes .... Oops. I can't wait to learn more of social psychology!! It's really interesting. This semester's subjects rock lah. Ok off for a quick, short nap and maybe some pictures tonight, if i'm feeling generous hoho. Labels: College

Jing took one look at the bottle and went, "HAHA! SUSU KELDAI! "You know what? You always run into cockroaches wan lah."quote Zheng Joo. Not only cockroaches. LIZARDS. I was just scribbling something on my notebook when suddenly one baby one darted out from underneath the printer, just a few centimeters away from where the mouse was. My heart jumped, and I clutched at my chest. The little lizard stared at me for a second, before darting off again. And also, earlier, I was watching this awesome possum crime show on TV (channel 79, what else) about this guy called the Green River Killer, who murdered like ninety four women and prostitutes and only got caught until after two decades. Oh, and after he killed his victims, he'd place them at spots that he could remember so that he could come back and have sex with their dead bodies again. He claims that he does this because it is free sex. -_- Suddenly, this big lizard came out from behind the TV and ran across the screen, conveniently stopping on the Green River Killer's face. Smart lizard wanna block my view. ______________________ Eh, seriously must buy toto already. Labels: College

I pet him on the head, and then I went on my way, smiling because I just made a new friend.

WANNA. GO. HOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE There isn't even Photoshop on this thing, for chrissakes. YARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Labels: College

Too bad it was never meant to be. Dessert Disasters would have been a success. Safe Sex On The Beaches and Konnyaku Jellies. Ah. You would buy it if we were selling it. Wouldn't you? Aw, come on. Of course you would. Labels: College

Funny convos in college: Jason: *mutters something in mandarin* ZhengJoo: Oh my god. Me: Translate that for me? Jason: Uh, she said "Oh my God" Me: -_- I SAID THE MANDARIN WORDS LAH LOL! Super funny can die dot com. Yesterday was the wedding. Some guy's car got broken into right in front of the restaurant and was driven away. That smart guy who stole the car apparently wired it. Man. You can never ever predict something in Kepong. Poor guy from the bride's side (not our family, thank God HAHA) lah. Pity him.

We were at the Chinese sundry shop, choosing drinks and snacks during the English break. Jing chose a bottle from the fridge. "What's that?""Oh, some brown soya drink. It's damn addictive.""Oh."On the bottle it read " Susu Keledai" which meant "Malt milk" on the English translation printed right above the malay words. Jing took one look at the bottle and went, "HAHA! SUSU KELDAI! DONKEY MILK!!!" and then burst into a fit of laughter. ..... ________________________ OH YES.There is finally a place selling waffles in TCPJ!
